macbook battery lock

the battery lock on my white macbook broke when i was putting my battery back into my computer, and i was wondering if this can be repaired for free under apple care?

white macbook 2.4 GHZ 2 GB RAM, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

If they determine it is caused by defective materials or workmanship on their part then they will fix it at no charge to you. Conversely, if they determine that it is due to abuse then they will not fix it for free.
