It would help if you would fill out your settings so we would know what type of computer you have, operating system, etc.

Average time on most DSL and Cable connections is 5 to 10 min of download time. May vary depending on your internet speed package with your ISP, or how busy data traffic is on your home network or the area. And even the server of where you are downloading the file from.
You may want to ensure no one in the house is downloading any big files or pauses their downloads it may increase your download speed.iMac Intel, iPhone, iPod, Mac Book Pro, Zune, Aspire 6920, Mac OS X (10.5.6), Windows XP Pro SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows Vista 64 bit SP1

When ipod shows up, right click it in the devices menu.
Then, restore your ipod.
After it is done doing that, it will probably restore the music and stuff you already had on it before you restored it.
Hope this helps.Dell inspiron 530S, Windows Vista, none
