Apple's " own brand " Firewall is legendary - Its more than enough to protect 99.9% of computer users.

Little Snitch has other uses other than a Firewall! 🙂

Only you can decide if Little Snitch is worth the money. We can't make that decision for you.

Little Snitch and OS X's firewall do completely different jobs.

OS X's firewall prevents outside requests from making it onto your system.

Little Snitch alerts you to attempts by applications running on your Mac to get out to the internet.

From the Little Snitch homepage:

A firewall protects your computer against unwanted guests from the Internet. But who protects your private data from being sent out? Little Snitch does!

I fear that you may be mis-reading, mis-understanding the issue here. Little Snitch is not a Firewall. You don't need Little Snitch - If a Firewall is what you require. The onboard Firewall is more than you require or desire.

What are you trying to protect yourself against?

I use Little Snitch and find it very informative. The information it provides you helps you understand what applications are accessing the internet and how much they access the internet. You can also block that access so that applications that you don't want to access the internet can't or even to keep your bandwidth from being consumed by some application that you don't feel should have access to the internet.

Hi Everyone,

I've just started using Spotify (which is great BTW) but Little Snitch is interrupting the streaming all the time and it's becoming a real hassle! Has anyone got any advice on how (or what) I might be able to write a "rule" which would prevent the Little Snitch windows from constantly popping up?
