Several odd behaviors - 32GB iPod touch 2G
1) When I have iTunes running on my PC (Vista OS), and I plug in my iPod via USB, it almost always goes through a semi-quick synch, without reporting what the heck it's doing in iTunes. I have iTunes set to not automatically start when an iPod is connected, nor to do any automatic synching. I do ALL of my synching when I WANT to do it, manually, and NOT before. When I perform a manual synch from iTunes, iTunes dutifully tells me in its status window what is being synched. This short, unreported synch upon hook-up makes me nervous. While I haven't yet seen anything strange happen because of it, I sure would feel a lot more comfortable if I knew what this was all about.
2) This 2nd Gen. device chirps whenever it detects it has been plugged in to a power source (either the USB power from my PC, or my Apple USB Charger). This chirp is annoying, when I have the Sounds settings on the iPod (New Mail, Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts, Lock Sounds, Keyboard Clicks) all switched to OFF. If I choose to have all sound supressed, why is this thing chirping at me? I don't want the chirp. I turn all sound off so that I can be discrete and consciencious in a shared environment, but I can't find a way to turn this power source chirp off. Is there a way?
