Default iTunes store is wrong country

Whenever I open the app store on my iphone or iTunes music store on my mac the default store is the UK store, but I live in the US. Can anyone help me?

ibook g4, iPhone 3g, macbook & 180gig iPod classic, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Open iTunes on your Mac and go to the iTunes Store. Scroll to the bottom of the main page where it says "My Store:" and select United States in the pull down selection.

Then sync your iPhone. When you sync your iPhone or iPod touch with your computer, the account last used to access the iTunes Store from the computer is synced to the mobile device for use in the iTunes Store from the device as well. This same account is used for the App Store as well. This account will be used on the device for both stores until you sign in from your computer to the iTunes Store with a different account, and then resync your mobile device with the computer. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1311
