iPhone 3G not responding - blank screen

Hi,

Had a bit of a problem with my iPhone 3G today. Having used it earlier in the morning to listen to music it was fine. However, when I went back to use it and wake it from sleep mode the screen would not show up. Instead, it just stayed blank.

The only way I could get it to light up was to plug in the charger, which allowed me to enter my passcode and use it as normal. Again however, when I put it to sleep and tried to wake it, I still only got the blank screen.

I have since plugged in the charger to wake it again and turned it off. Seems to be working okay now, but I'm a bit concerned it will happen again when I am not near my charger.

Has anyone had similar problems and worked out how to resolve them? I'm hoping its just a one-off glitch.

Thanks in advance.

I received an iphone 3g for my b'day the 17th. Twice it has cut off on me
while I was entering info, like a password to get into my voicemail.
I couldn't get it to respond! The first time really scared me because it
told me my pin to get in wasn't right, I tried 3 times, then just put it
aside till morning. Someone told me if you try to sign in too many times it
will erase everything. Fortunately(sp?) it let me sign in the next morning.
I'm thinking about demanding a new one because I haven't seen that many
complaints like yours.
I was wondering if it is being caused by the 2.2 upgrade...
Good luck to you!
