Q: Powerbook 100 sadmacs on boot

I'm trying to fix a powerbook 100. I recived it second hand, and before I got it, it was clicking and displaying a floppy disk icon, so I know that it must work on some level.

When I tried to turn it on after switching out the hard drive with a good one, it gave me a sad mac with a white line going down a little left of the center. Error code is 03001300 00001FFA. I've tried looking this up, as well as sad mac error codes both in general and for this machine, and the closest I've found is a list of some macintosh portable error codes, none of which matched up.

I've tried the following things to get it working:
boot with and without PRAM batteries
replace pram batteries
boot with and without lead acid battery
tried a 3rd party power adapter
resoldered the power connector
boot with both the original and replacement hard drives
boot without a hard drive attached
Booted with pram battery switch on back in both positions
Boot with and without both ram expansion card, and CPU daughter card.

As soon as it powers up, it displays a pattern of lines quickly and then sadmacs. If I take the CPU daughter card out, it'll give the lines without the sad mac.

Is there anything I've overlooked? I really dont want to go ebay hunting for a new motherboard, which I fear is the problem here.

Powerbook 100, Mac OS 8.6 or Earlier, Occures immediatly, right after a pattern of gray/back lines

Maybe, but I have no way to test that out. I've tried it with and without the ram card and no difference. It has 2mb onboard in addition to the ram card, so I doubt it. Dont want to rule that idea out though.

Well, I found reference to your error message here, but...

They also seem to be discussing RAM, although a Google translation of the French leaves one to wonder. "My Mac laptop (yes the first heavy white person wanted..."

Well, after google translating my way through it(Kinda hard to read, machine translation is kinda rough), it looks like I'll have to replace the motherboard after all... thanks for showing me that, at least I know what's wrong with it now.
