Itunes froze now NANO is frozen with "CONNECTED" showing on nano screen!!!

This just happened to me too. I let the battery run down until it turned itself off. When I reconnected everything was fine.

Happened to me this morning. Everything Ok left charging with Itunes open came back 1 hour later, not charged and locked IPOD screen Connected, and no Ipod Icon on Itunes, so had to disconnect without ejecting.
Is there a problem with the Ipod.Trying to reconnect to computer and getting messages USB device not recognized.

This happened to me as well and I can't get the iPdd to respond to the reset procedure. So when the standard 'Reset' trick doesn't work....what then?

Same thing happened to me. Have and 8GB Nano. Tried everything on the support website and nothing is working. MY Ipod is totally unresponsive

Mine is doing the same thing. I tried shutting it down, unplugging it from the wall...the USB device is still not recognized. My driver is up to date. My iPod is stuck on the "connected" screen. I don't know what to do 😟. It's really aggravating.

Try resetting the ipod by pressing the menu and select buttons at the same time until the apple logo appears.

I hit the select & menu button at the same time until the apple logo showed up. A few seconds later, iTunes recognized it and all was fine. I'm glad that worked, but I'm hoping we wont have to do that often. FIX IT APPLE!

my ipod nano does it all the time.... honestly i think its something to do with the actual ipod... all i do is just leave it for the battery to die and then plug it back into my computer and let it charge up....mine is starting to get annoying but the connected screen comes up alot after being plugged in.... just let the battery die out and try again..

With so many people visiting this problem and so many people willing to comment about it Apple needs to fix this problem. I experienced this problem twice until I came to the website and it suggested the folling pressing Menu and the center button at the same time and hold it between 6 to 8 seconds. It works. The problem is that if it happen to me twice in one week it will happen many time. APPLE, FIX YOUR BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you cant reset it by holding down menu and the center button let your I pod battery die and then plug it back in and it willl work properly. It sucs becasue Apple has had this probelm with a few pf its nano's so they need to fix their bugs.
