How long Apple takes to deliver MBP in UK

Hi, I dont know where to ask this question and also not able to find answer in google. I ordered my Macbook pro on Monday, 19th January. On Tuesday 20th, I received shipment notification. They mentioned that I will get my items on or before 29th January, next Thursday. I would like to know when will I get my items.
I am from Oxford, England. Hope to hear from people from UK.

Usually UK online stores deliver items next day itself. I saw a photo of Macbook pro in Flickr. In that they mentioned that they (they are in Europe, I guess) got the Mac from China in 3 days. Does Apple ship its items from China only? I thought they would send from London or some other nearby cities for the UK customers. I just curious to know this.

Thanks in advance!
Jay

My MBP came direct from China. They are manufactured there, and when you order a machine online, the specific model (with CTO parts) that you specify online is built for you, then shipped from there. That is, to my knowledge, how the process works. It will take a few days for it to arrive, depending on which custom parts you order and how good the stock of them is. You should have (or be able to obtain) some sort of shipping tracking number if you ordered online. I did not order online (but the order was placed through Apple's website by the store that I purchased from) but I was able to get a UPS tracking number for my MBP. That's the only way you'll be able to (somewhat) tell when it will arrive.

I'm in your exact same situation. London based. Shipment notice received on Tuesday but if I check the status of my order it hasn't changed since then. It's quite a relaxed concept of "tracking an order". It doesn't even say where it is or what company is acting as carrier. It does say however that that information will be updated "shortly". Unfortunately that message hasn't changed in over 48 hours.

I suspect Travis might be right in saying that they get shipped from China. I only used the online store once before to buy an iPod and it also came from China but at least I remember being able to follow day by day where it was. There's none of that now which brings me to suspect that my new MBP is in some warehouse awaiting shipment. Initially I suspected the quoted date of Jan 29th was them being cautious but now I doubt I'll see it before then.

Hey FYI:

If you order a CTO (custom to order) machine, e.g. you wanted a higher clock speed. All CTO's are ordered from China on a order to build basis and are shipped with either TNT or UPS. Usually TNT. Turn around time is 21 days maximum. Most orders are averaged on 9 days.

If you order a standard machine, maybe with upgrade RAM. It will come from Cork, Ireland.
And ships 2-3 days. Usually with UPS.

Hope this helps.
