No output from effects plug ins

No output from effects plug ins

I have been recording with Logic Pro for some time, but today encountered a new problem. My guitar is connected and the channel strip shows that Logic is receiving the input. However, when I apply plug in effects they don't seem to be giving any output; in other words, the guitar sound just stays clean. Can anyone help?

If you don't have "software monitoring" switched on you won't be able to monitor the effects.

Right, we're going to need some more information then.

Are you listening to the main out from Logic and not direct monitoring from your interface (sorry about the basic question but often it can be something very simple that has been looked over, and we've all done it at some stage)?

Are the effects inserts or are you sending to a bus?

Are they Logics own FX or third party?

Do you get the same result if you use one of Logic's built in (preset) Guitar channel strips?
