My iPhone tends to mash buttons in my pocket (I forgot the lock setting) which makes the "delete/move" apps function activate. I accidentely deleted my "Photos" app but can't find any way to restore it. Can't find it in the apps store. Anyone know how?

Just install it again, you won't be charged a second time.

But how is it your iphone deletes apps while in your pocket? You have to slide the Unlock slider to activate the spring board (from which you can then delete).
This is specifically designed to prevent the casual touch from triggering some random event.

Sirand said: "I forgot the lock setting". He needs to manually lock the phone if it didn't auto-lock before putting it in his pocket. He may be making unwanted calls as well...

Are u sure the "Photos" app has been deleted? Maybe it moved to another page on ur iPhone...

Anyway, it's easy to get it back: just plug ur iPhone to ur iTunes and click on restore.

The "Photos" app cannot be deleted. It must have been moved to another home screen.

No need to do a restore. Synching it with iTunes will reinstall the deleted apps.

Actually, when u delete regular Apps, they are not reinstalled automatically:

in iTunes, u go to the Applications tab and select them again (if u want to get them back) cos they are deselected in iTunes after iTunes connects to iPhone and receives the info that an App has been deleted...

As for the default Apps (like Photos), it's like neuroanatomist said: they can't be deleted.

If Sync "All Applications" is checked, all are synced, even if deleted from the phone.

Thank you modular747 for the precision and you are right... but in the event that "All Applications" is not checked, then what I mentioned earlier is valid

What you said is perfectly correct if Sync "Selected apps" is checked. Even if previously checked, an app deleted from the phone is automatically deselected.

    Absolutely...

Nice debate! Irrelevant to the OP, of course, since "Photos" is not a 'regular app' (i.e. a 3rd party app from the App Store that can be deleted). Nor can it be hidden with Restrictions. So, if it's not on another home screen (which it probably is), then a Restore in iTunes is the OP's only option.

Not starting another debate: however, what was being said IS of use to the OP...
