FINDER keeps restarting itself.

ok, I wrote before about the issues I'm having with FINDER. I have since realised that if I am on my Finder/Desktop window showing the desktop - it keeps restarting itself every 10-15 seconds. If I have a window open (such as looking in Folder Contents) it closes that window and all the desktop icons disappear and it restarts Finder! it is very, very annoying. Does anyone know what this could be??

Cheers
Nahum

I found a soultion to the finder restarting from another forum site and it worked for me with the problem: having the finder restart repeatedly after installing the Quicktime 7.6 undate.

David Krafchick offered the solution:
Okay, it took my friend Mark Jacobson and I two calls and lots of tests by both of us, but for me, it's fixed. It turned out to be the Stuffit AVR System Preference. Once I turned it off, no Finder relaunch.

Good luck.

Thank you so much for this information! Although I am not the OP, I had the exact same problem thanks to the Quicktime 7.6 update. I have been going crazy trying to find a solution, and it was just this simple. I went into my Stuffit AVR system preference, hit stop, and the problem is gone. Thank you so very much!!

FINDER keeps restarting itself.
