Presenter Notes showing on wrong screen

I am really excited about using the presenter screen for my keynot presentation. However, I have tested it out an LCD projector and my keynote show on my laptop screen, while the projector shows my presenter notes. I know I must have something configured wrong. Anyone know how to fix this?

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Alternatively, hit the letter 'x' when in slideshow mode to eXchange the two different views between the two screens...

The switch should be instantaneous.

ps hit the '/' to get other keyboard commands on screen.

in the prefs under Slideshow, make sure it's set to present on secondary screen. then under Presenter Display check the alternate display option.
