My Ipod Touch pauses when playing music.

I have had my Ipod touch for about a year and recently it has started pausing during songs and videos. I have reset and restored it to its factory settings but it still happens - it's very annoying! Do you have any suggestions to fix it? Thanks

I'm having a similar issue. It happens to me when I've got my 1st gen 16G Touch plugged into my Kensington FM transmitter. I haven't proven it yet, but I'm leaning toward it being a bad or loose data jack OR a problem with the latest firmware update. This happened after I updated, but I haven't seen any alerts from Apple or on any other sites suggesting that the update is causing anything like this.

Lemme know if this helps, and please if anyone else is having the same issue, let us know.

I am having the same problem. Not only is it doing it with my headphones, it's doing it while it is connected to my Valor Multimedia DVD Screen in my car. It will actually stop there though and I will have to disconnect it and reconnect. I don't know why it's doing this. I have not tried a restore yet...

I have a first generation 8gb. I am also having the ipod pause during playback. I will push play and it will just pause moments later again. Restart doesn't work. Restore doesn't work. THis is reminding me of when the software update in 2006 killed my older ipod. I'm really getting sick of apple's updates killing products I've paid 300+ dollars for. They never seem to solve these problems.

iPod touch 1st Gen. 16gb... Pauses randomly. Not a problem with the audio, restored, restarted, recharged, etc... Tried different headphones, even pauses when nothing is plugged into it. Got this iPod from my boyfriend, told me he had no issues with it when he used it before he updated to his 2nd Gen.

Most recent version on iTunes, most recent iPod update... Hello, Apple? Can we get a solution? This creates quite the unusable mp3 player.

I have recently gotten the same problem. I'll be listening to a song for maybe 3 minutes then it'll start to pause frequently. I've restored it 3 times, restarted it, downgraded firmware, tried other headphones (it's the same the built-in speakers). So I really don't know what's going on. This is frustrating me beyond belief since I can't listen to my music in peace. Anyone know anything about this?

*Also my battery seems to drain completely even when I turn off my iPod (not sleeping).

I also have the exact same problem with my touch (32G 1. gen), and have also tried all the suggestions listed in different posts and support sites. I have also tried to rinse the minijack connector with compressed air and Q-tips. But no change. It works fine for a couple of days after each restore, but the problem always returns...

Anyways, I just read this on another forum:
"...Bottom line... The battery died, (then I) fully charged it... and now NO SKIPPING and I have used it for a couple weeks now and for hours at a time..."
(Thanks to "Scoot0903" at iPodtouchfans if this works!)

I haven't tried it yet. I'll be back with results in a couple of days.

Hope this helps!
