Trying to set-up Pismo for wirless Internet at hotel I am staying at
I have a Pismo G3 running OS X 10.3.9. I bought a Belkin F5D7010 wireless card that is supposed to be compatible with Macs, installed the Airport 4.2 update and I am trying to use the WiFi provided at the hotel I am staying at. The icon for the wireless card shows up in the Menu bar, but when I go to "Internet Connect" or try to configure "Network" in System Preferences, it's like there is no wireless card. Anyone have any suggestions?
PowerBook G3 "Pismo",
Mac OS X (10.3.x),
Wireless internet card
I was able to download the Ralink driver, but when I tried to download the MacStumbler, the download looked like it was about to begin, then an error message came up saying "Content Encoding Error", the site uses an invalid or unsupported form of compression. I got this message on both Mac OS X 10.5 and Windows XP (work computers). How did you get it to download? I will load the Ralink driver and see what happens. Thanks for the information (links).
