Safari won't let me type in fields

Safari 3.2.1 for Tiger.

It won't let me type in fields. The cursor shows there, but when I try to type I get my error sound. I can type in the address bar but not within a webpage. I thought it might have to do with "find" or "type ahead" in Saft, so I disabled those. Doesn't help. Then I uninstalled Saft. Also didn't help.

Another weird thing was when I installed Safari 3.2.1, after I restarted, I could not find it anywhere on my hard drive. i searched in Spotlight and it just wasn't there. After I deleted all files having to do with Safari, I started all over again and then it installed.

I'm going back to 3.1.
