Electronic drum kit

Again, it depends how you intent to "use" it.

A drum kit is just another MIDI device, Logic handles it just fine. Or do you have any specific questions?

That can be done, but you would need:

Pads plugged into a 'Brain' or designated Module such as an Alesis D4 or DM5 for example. This controls the responsiveness of your pads and then in turn, converts those signals into MIDI notes

MIDI Interface - USB or Firewire so your Mac can communicate with the Drum Module

From there, you can record and edit that incoming MIDI information in Logic


You can assign Drum Kits in Logic to create any sounds you like. Then a Plug-in such as Superior Drummer 2.0 takes things to a whole other level! 🙂

I use a cheap e-drum kit from Alesis (USB Drum kit with Surge and chokable cymbals) add to Superior 2.0 and evrything works like a charm under Logic. It takes a while to make a setup (all depends how people drums). But it's great.
If you have a bigger budget i recommand you the RET drum kit. Larger pads than Alesis's one but much more expensive kit. Anyway all e-drum i have seen use the Alesis trigger I/O box. After you will need a software. i recommand you Ezdrummer. Great choice of library to built your drum..
Check the website from Alesis, Toontrack and RET drums. Watch the videos from RET , they give good advise to setup a e-drum.
