URL error through iWeb 09

Hi,

I just upgraded to iWeb 09 and I am having a few problems. I've managed to publish my site but the url is wrong. When I load it it goes to www."mysite".com\www."mysite".com
Can anyone help me clear the duplication?
What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

I just found your reply to another iWeb 09 user that had the same problem I have. The suggestion you gave ended up replacing the second URL with "site". I tried to leave it blank, but it keeps on reverting to what was typed in. I am now in the process of just placing a / in there instead of "site" in hopes Google will properly pick it up in searches. Maybe I just need to find a way to save the blank space and then go for it. In any case, I am at least hopeful that with your help I am on the right track.

Many thanks, Al

Thanks for the tip Tom. It actually works with an /, but it shows up as an/ . I am now trying just the "s" but no doubt it will throw an s in there. Just checked and it shows as "/s/Home.html". Wish I knew if this minor change will be a problem in searches since my original URL shows up in Google search but not the new one. That brings up another question. Is there any way to remove the original URL so that searches go to the new update?

Thanks for your comments.

Al

Of course, that's how it works. If you don't want anything in there, you must manually modify the site structure to remove the folder with the sitename and just leave its contents on the server. Doing that will make any RSS Subcribe buttons non-functional.

You could also try redirecting www.mysite.com to www.mysite.com/s if that's possible on your server.

The built in iWeb 09 ftp has lots of problems at the moment, so when I started using 09, I just decided not to bother with it and have since published to a local folder and uploaded using Cyberduck still.

If you upload with Cyberduck, then you should just be able to upload the contents of your Site folder rather than the whole folder itself and your url would then be http://www.domain.com/pagename, rather than sitename/pagename. Remember that RSS feeds will not work as you have broken the site structure by uploading in this way, but if you don't need this feature then it does not matter.
