Bad %%BoundingBox: comment seen!

Howdy everyone,
Has anyone else seen this error when trying to print from Photoshop CS4?
"Bad %%BoundingBox: comment seen!"

It appears in the printer status window, here's a screen capture:

But right now we can't print from Photoshop CS4. Strange!

The only reference I have found to this online is here:
http://66.102.1.101/translatec?hl=en&sl=de&tl=en&u=http://www.hilfdirselbst.ch/foren/Druckerfehler_Bad_%2525% 2525BoundingBox:_comment_seen__P383123.html&prev=t&usg=ALkJrhj87CkglK3C8lF2nnkcGR9N06O9nQ

(translated from German w/ google)

Following the link from there, leads to an apple support page, but I can't find any of the options the support page recommends.

Thanks,

You need to contact Adobe support.

The %%BoundingBox comment in Postscript declares what the dimensions of the page or an encapsulated PostScript chunk within the page (like a picture or what not). Strictly speaking, it's really a hint for the printer to properly set up the print job and the printer SHOULD be able to ignore it. However, the HP printer probably pays attention to the comment if it's present.

The error occurs when there's something wrong with the BoundingBox comment, namely if someone forgets to actually put the dimensions in, or if the dimensions are nonsensical (such as letters instead of numbers, or too big, etc.). If it happens for every document, then it's a problem with CS4. If it happens on documents that only contain particular EPS images or other things brought in from Photoshop or Illustrator, then it may be an issue with those (they too have bounding boxes).

You might be able to get away with printing to PDF and then printing the PDF file.

You can also have Photoshop export the document as PostScript and then search for all the bounding box comments in the document. A correct BoundingBox for a US Letter page with 1-inch margins should look like this:

%%BoundingBox: 72 72 540 720
