"organic main" title not working properly

"organic main" title not working properly

I drop the title "organic main" into my film and I get the text but no artwork. Look at the titles video on http://www.apple.com/ilife/imovie/ to see what I mean. The title should appear with artwork. The small preview in the titles pane should also have the artwork but my titles pane it does not.

Does this title (organic main) appear broken like this for anyone else?

PowerMac G5 DC 2.3, Mac OS X (10.5)

I apologise in advance for replying to my own topic, but could someone, anyone, verify for me that this issue is isolated to me or not. If the title "organic main" works normally for you, please let me know. I f you get the same behaviour let me know. (I have already tried reinstalling iLife 09 without success).

Appears ok for me, I see the text and graphics (wavey thinggies lol)

Thank you for replying. The "wavey thinggies" are the bits that do not appear for me. I wonder what is wrong in my instance... 😟

the "wavy thinggies" as you call them start to develop as the title progresses.
first you get the title letters where you put your title, if you click the arrow you will see the "thingiies"
as the title is progressively written thru the duration of the clip !!!! Kapish.

Yes - I do understand how to put a title in. After entering my title text I click done. Then, I play the title. It appears and plays but the "swirls" or "artistic flourishes" never appear.

Also, in the small title preview when you mouse over the title it gives you a small preview of what the title might look like. The "flourishes" DON'T appear there either...

All the other titles are fine both in the preview and after you have placed them. Like the pixie title - I get the sparkles appearing over the text just fine.

I just have "half" of the title "Organic Main" - and I now think that it may have mis-installed. I have tried re-installing to no avail. I have tried repairing permissions to no avail. I just don't know how to fix it...

Do you get any output from iMovie in the console log when this happens?

The following appeared in the console just before...:

31/01/09 5:45:02 PM iMovie[380] * -[NSCFArray objectAtIndex:]: index (2147483647( or possibly larger)) beyond bounds (32)

Ok. I don't think the above console message has anything to do with my problem. It was a one off, so to speak. It has not appeared since.

I found that looking at the permissions for the iLife apps, iMovie differs. Where the other apps list "system" as the owner, iMovie lists myself. Using chown in the terminal, I have rectified this with the following command:

sudo chown -R system:admin iMovie.app

Excited, I rebooted and launched iMovie. NO change. Only the title "organic main" displays incorrectly, everything else is fine.

I'm probably at the end of my knowledge and abilities. Are there any any suggestions?
