Slowing down the speed of the scrolling text title

Is there a way to slow down the speed that the text scrolls up the page when using the scrolling text title. I am making a slideshow and am using the scrolling text title to add little blurbs of text throughout the slideshow. My problem is that it scrolls so fast it makes it hard to read. Can someone please give me some advice on how to slow it down?

Do you see the little blue (or is it green) box above your clip (or photo). That is your title. You can drag the right edge of that little blue box to the right to make the title appear on the screen longer. If the title is set to last 1 second, the scrolling will flash by in one second. If the same title is set to 10 seconds, the title will scroll by much slower.
