Meeting Requests - No Accept/Maybe/Deny

I connected my iphone 3g to Exchange 2007 and am not seeing response options for meeting requests from users external to the exchange server. That is, I sent a meeting request from another exchange server and the iphone simply places it on the calendar with no response options and no alert. However, an "internal" user send a meeting request and the iphone responds like it did on Exchange 2003 - wakes up, displays a message and has the response options.

Any ideas?
