Photoshop Elements Deletes Safari Cookies

I recently installed Photoshop Elements 6.0 under OS X Leopard (10.5.6). When I installed Photoshop Elements, I got a message about quitting Safari, but I didn't think much about that. Now whenever I open Photoshop Elements, it deletes all my cookies under Safari. This is really annoying! I have tried to search for a solution but I haven't found any information - any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe I have solved the problem. Here is what I did in case others encounter the same problem. First, I reinstalled Safari for Mac, then I opened Photoshop Elements and let it do its updates. The Adobe updater generated errors for the RAW converter and for Adobe Reader, so I manually updated these two components. Now Photoshop Elements is no longer resetting the cookies for Safari.

(The fix was rather un-Mac like, though!)
