I'm a new Safari user and I need help please

I recently decided to download and install Safari for Windows Vista, and the install went fine. However, when I started Safari, I immediately get sent to a page saying Safari can't connect to the server for a website. I really want to use Safari, but I can not go to any web pages. Any tips or advice on how I can fix this problem would be greatly appreciated.
