Macbook making funny noise

When i lift, tilt, or move my macbook I can hear makes a ticking/whirring noise. Never noticed it before. I heard it could be signs of a crash?

Not really familiar what those sounds are from the description but if it's under warranty, I'd let a Genius listen to it. My guess is that it sounds like the fan. In the meantime, I'd keep a good backup system going in case it's your hard drive. Another suggestion is to keep it flat and steady while in use as opposed to lifted and tilted.....at least until it's looked at. -GDF

Go into a quiet room and put it on a flat surface. Listen for 2 minutes. You should hear a near constant whirring sound from the bottom right being the hard drive that is slightly dampened when pressing down from the top. You may also hear a faint clicking sound a couple times a minute or so. This is normal and is the aggressive power saving measure by parking the drive heads of Mac OS X and Linux systems. Anything louder may be a sign of hard drive failure.
