Quicktime ..No video only audio

its been two days since i got my laptop,and i been trying to find why quick time is playing audio without video ..when i switch to vista, the windows media player works fine there . when i closed the vista and visited the quicklime web site the video there was working just fine . can anyone tell me what do i need to do ..oh yeah i also deleted the quicklime webplugeins and nothing changed ..

Well it would!

You need Flip4Mac WMV Player from

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/wmcomponents.mspx

(Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)

klaus1 ..Thanks for your help ,after the download was finished i restarted it and its playing audio only without a video ..any ideas ?

I have never heard of, nor can I find, 'Quicklime'. Can you provide a link to the video that doesn't play?

if this is audio tracks ..why when i use windows media player it plays a video ? just if u read the name http://aljazeera.net/Channel/Livestreaming ..its said live streaming it should play it as a video ..should not ?

That particular link leads to a live news commentary (I presume, I don't speak Arabic), and at the top of the Quicktime Player window it says 'Audio'.

But having tried to play some of the videos listed on the page, I do only get audio. Quicktime Player's Movie Inspector shows N/A against the video track so we cannot tell what codec it is, although I would have thought it was Flash videos.

I can only suggest that you contact Aljazeera about the problem.

Note however, that the videos you can link to from the English home page:

http://english.aljazeera.net/

play just fine.
