macboock air

so i want to buy a mac and i will be emigrating from windows to a mac i have my eyes set on a macbook or a macbook air. Here is the deal some one told me that the macbook air dosent have a dvd cd player and there for i cant upload the cd's i have bought to the mac and so on to my ipod classic. is this person correct about this? that it dossent have a cd or dvd player?
