4 empty categories in spotlight preferences

4 empty categories in spotlight preferences

Hello ... Spotlight is working mostly fine but I noticed that in the preferences the categories 11-14 are checked but have no label. It's like that 4 empty categories are included in the spotlight searches. The last visible category is the 10th category "web pages". I changed finder and preferences.app language from French to English and vice-versa but in every language these last 4 categories are empty. Do you have a suggestion how to get back the categories?

delete the file /users/username/library/preferences/com.apple.spotlight.plist

then go to spotlight system preferences and see if they work now.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Unfortunately, though, deleting the plist hasn't changed anything and the four last entries are still missing.

Someone else had that same strange problem, they even posted a picture. Their problem started after installing the new iLife 09. See here:

Installing the iLife Media Browser Update fixed the problem for him.
