The thousand separator in Pages and Numbers does not work. I have selected the cells and then checked the thousands separator box and it still doesn't work. Any help would be appreciated.
If I put in 123456 I get 123456. No comma. nothing. But wait I did contact phone support and here is what he said. Honest this is the truth. He tried IWork 8 on his computer and agreed it didn't work but it did work with v. 9. Then he says he used Excel in college and Excel does not use commas! All I know is that when I follow the directions the thousand separator does not work.
With the content cell Selected, when you look at the Cells Inspector, does the Inspector Pane look just like my Numbers 08 example? What differences are there, if any?
French of France (& Canada) uses a space (can't use comma which is our decimal separator) 123 456,78
French of Belgium (& Luxembourg) uses period. 123.456,78
French of Swiss uses the period as decimal separator and the single quote as thousand separator. 123'456.78
Thank you for your solution. You should send it to Apple as they are clueless. I went back to Neo Office as this seemed hopeless. I thought I would try one more time and see if 09 was different but it wasn't, I checked here and you saved the day. It was driving me crazy too, and I know people thought I was doing something wrong. Again thank you.
