All apps gone, how to get them back?

I've formated my computer, installing a new OS.

Before realising that iTunes has to be re-authorised with my computer, (Even though its still the same one) I've clicked it to sync. Its then gone and wiped all the apps off my phone. (All except Facebook, for some reason... Although when I sync, it says Facebook can not be transfered because its not authorized - Even after authorising computer)

Authorised and now clicking in the store menu, to check for available downloads. But its not getting any. Surely what I've bought should be registered to my account and I can just redownload them without having to pay again?

If it helps though, I managed to copy my ../My Documents/My Music/Itunes/ folder, which has the Application folder in it. Copied that back into its correct location and still no joy. No applications to sync.

I understand the need for DRM and protection, but if can't even backup your data whats the point in even buying anything through iTunes if it can just disappear into the ether in a split second. ... I hope this isn't the case.

Try quitting iTunes and then launching it again. Do the applications show up again?

If not, you can just download them again.

You can also try dragging and dropping the Mobile Applications folder in to the iTunes application.

Thank you for the reply.

I tried opening all my app files, this has now added them all to iTunes.

When I goto Sync, it has added a few to my phone. Both Paid and Free. But a number will not sync, both paid and free.

Comes up saying "Some of the applications in your iTunes library, including "Shazam" were not installed on the iPhone "My iPhone" because you are not authorized for them on this computer - For a list of applications that could not be installed click the + below"

Like say, both free and paid for apps in that list.

Then went and tried the clicking buy button on apps, so that it just redownloads them. Asked me to log in and then said it would charge my account for download. Click ok, to see if would reconise already owned it after. But didn't say anything. I have a sneaking suspicion that I've just bought a 2nd copy of Enigmo.

Since that link you put up shows a very different pop-up box when you already own something.

I'm not really relishing the idea of having to search for every app thats not syncing and downloading it one by one, but I will, but I'm definitely not liking the idea of rebuying all of them. Because that would cost a **** of alot.

Any ideas?

Umm, think I've located the issue. Gone to My Account and looked at purchase history. The apps that arn't syncing are not on the list. It's as if I've never bought them. Which is obviously not the case, since I've had them and had them installed on my phone for a few months.

I've clicked the report problem button, but it gives me no option to actually say what the problem is.

Is there anyway of contacting Apple, and sorting it out? Or would making an apperance in an Apple store help? Or do they not deal with the internet side of things?

All apps gone, how to get them back?
