Can't Remove Speech Feedback From Dock

I unintentionally launched Speech feedback and cannot now remove it's icon from my Dock;
how can I do so?

speech feedback will only show up if you either have "speakable items" turned on or are using an application (such as Chess) that uses speech recognition. in the former case you can turn off speakable items in speech system preferences. in the latter I'm not sure. In Chess you can turn off speech options in chess preferences. if you then restart chess Speech recognition won't show up. Other programs might have similar options.
