I have the 3G iPhone with all updated software.
I cannot send mail, i can receive it just fine.
I get a message
"Cannot Send Mail
The sender address was invalid"
I have two AOL accounts if that makes a difference

Thanks in advance

Hi Ted,

Did you sync the email account settings to the iPhone or set them up on the iPhone by choosing Mail>AOL?
If you synced the email settings from your computer where you use an alternate outgoing mail server, the iPhone iPhone would not be able to send emails unless its connected to the same network as the computer.

Try deleting the account from the iPhone, just tap Settings> Mail, Contacts, Calendars> tap the account> Delete Account.

iTunes provides an option to transfer available email account settings from your computer to your iPhone via the iTunes sync process if you don't want to manually create an account with the iPhone's mail client. This is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences.

If you manually created the accounts with the iPhone's mail client, did you use the AOL email account preset when creating the accounts?
