2 Monitors questions

For some I will sound amateur but, I have to ask.

I have 2 CinemaDiplay Monitors hooked to my video card. I'm able to make my left monitor the preview one. But it is really pixelly... is there a reason? Also, when I switch to HD, that display just show the frame when I stop the time line...

Any advices?
