Automatng busses and the master track in Logic 8

Just automate them exactly like regular channels. Read the chapters on mixing, and automation.

Go to the environment, pick the master channel and the busses you want to automate and tick the 'icon' box in the inspector, then you'll be able to add those tracks to arrange and automate them normally.

Track Automation only works with tracks that are actually in the Arrange Track List.

You can add tracks for the Master, Outputs, Aux's and the like in the Mixer window several ways:

a) Control or right click on the mixer channel and choose "Create/Select Arrange track"

b) Select the channels and choose 'Options: Create Arrange Tracks for Selected Channel Strips'

c) (FASTEST) Simply change the required channels automation mode to Read, Touch, Latch.... this will create Arrange Tracks for you.

Create a track in arrange, configure it to be a Buss, output, whatever, open automation and all it's associated parameters are there. I do thiis to generate audio master fades and FX return levels.
