I need to download an update of ITunes 8. The issue comes in when I try to save the file. My download pops up and says "This download has been blocked by your security zone policy".
This didn't happen when ITunes was originally downloaded, so I don't see why it should happen now.
Is there something I have to change on my computer?
I've been looking, but I have yet to see something called that. Everything I look at just points to the security features for internet explorer, which are off anyhow.
Something that occurs to me is a problem with the settings in Internet Options>>security tab.
I guess your Internet Zone is not set to block downloads as you would not be able to download from anywhere. But is is worth looking at the settings using "custome level" button.
Otherwise, iTunes actually downloads from appldnld.apple.com.edgesuite.net
I wonder if edgesuite.net has somehow been put in your restricted sites. Click on the sites button to look.
Otherwise if you can't get it to work, you might have success with FileHippo. Google Filehippo iTunes.
It sounds as though all downloading is blocked. If you have check that downloading files is not blocked for your internet zone, I am not sure where to go next.
I wonder if there could be a problem with the particular user account you are using.
You could try creating a new administrator account to see if downloading works there.
