Incorrect Function error reading CD or DVD Drive
I just installed the 2005-06-26 and iTunes 4.9 over my existing installed base. After the install, I was no longer able to read CD's or DVD through windows. Any click on a CD or DVD drive (with CD inserted) generated "I:\ is not accessable ... and INCORRECT FUNCTION error. No application could access data or audio CD's. I restored my system to the previous backup, and things were fine. I tried again.
I noticed that after installing the software pair, that I got a message saying that iTunes needed to be re-installed, because it was unable to detect the iPOD drivers. (this error happened the first upgrade install too.) I re-installed iTunes, and again was unable to read any CD/DVD drives.
I restored back once again to an operable system, and this time deleted the Drivers, iTunes, and anything else before installing the new software. This time there was no "unable to detect iPOD drivers" error, and the CD and DVD drives seem to be working.
There appears to be an upgrade problem with the new software. Has anyone else experienced this????
Note: Windows system restore points did not work. I had to go back to a manual backup that I made before installing the software. I think the registry was getting corrupted, but can not confirm this.
