Hello, Welcome to discussions. I am sorry to read that you are not able to view your movie rental purchase.
A couple quick things you want to ensure have been done before viewing the media content are below. As well as the iTunes Store support information where they can assist you further.
-Download latest version of iTunes which will also include the latest iTunes+Quicktime
-Check iTunes Store authorization permission
Im pretty sure I have that version of iTunes, but I am reinstalling anyways. This computer is not deauthorized; I watched another movie I had rented from iTunes maybe a week before I rented this one.
EDIT: Same problem after reinstalling iTunes, so I reported it...
