iPhone unplugged during Restore Process, PLEASE HELP Restore!

Hi guys,
I was Restoring my original iPhone through iTunes and during this process my brother unplugged
the iphone from iTunes.
Now, I've been trying to restore again but the iTunes has prompted a little window that says
"Waiting for iPhone". I left it plugged in all night with iTunes on my Mac but it's stuck on that same
message.
Can someone please help me with this issue?

If placing your iPhone in recovery mode is not working and you are in the U.S., you can call AppleCare at (800) 694-7466, or make an appointment at an Apple store if there is one nearby.

Try placing your iPhone in recovery mode.

Turn off your iPhone by holding the "Sleep/Wake" button for about five seconds and then sliding the red slider. If your iPhone is already off, there's no need to turn it on and then off again.

Once it's turned off, press and hold the "Home" button and plug the iPhone into your Mac.Keep holding the "Home" button until you see a dock cable pointing to the iTunes icon. iPhones running older software will display a yellow triangle and text which says "Please Connect to iTunes". You can now release the Home button.

Open iTunes (if it's not already open) and you will be told that "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode". Click "OK" and you will be taken to the iPhone pane. Click restore.

I can hold the power/ sleep button and the screen will turn off. Then when I turn it on, it shows the apple icon and then it shows the "Cable Pointing to iTunes icon".
It does not go any further then there.

Press and hold the home button and the sleep/wake or on/off button simultaneously. If the red slider appears to power the iPhone off, do so and then follow the instructions provided with my first post in this thread.

ok, I did exactly as you told me and it says "Waiting for iPhone".
That's exactly what it's been doing. giving me the same msg.
It was stuck there all night at that same phrase.
before I was just connecting to itunes to restore bypassing the steps you mentioned in
your early thread.
This time applied your steps hoping it'll work.
Well, I'll wait and see.

Allan,
Same problem. ''Waiting for iPhone" message.
The status bar on the phone completed under the apple icon for software update.
But still shows that same msg in iTunes.
When the phone is unplugged, it still shows the "Cable pointing to iTunes icon".
What do I do now?

I just had this same problem. I finally called Apple Support and about 30 minutes into the call, we decided to try a different USB cable. Suddenly, I was up and working again. If you haven't tried that, it may be a much less expensive option for you.
