Burning to CD at highest quality / bit rate? Burning speed?

Hi there, im a DJ that needs good quality burnt cds for my gigs.

Just wondering how i can burn at the best quality for my songs. What format should I burn? Is an ACC file in itunes the equivalent of a wave in windows media player?

Can i slow the burn speed down to enhance the quality.

If i can do any of this, how do i do it?

Acer Aspire, Windows XP

AAC is a lossy compressed format, as is MP3. It is not the equivalent of a WAV, which if you use the normal settings, is uncompressed and lossless.

(It is also possible to make a compressed WAV file by adjusting the sample rate and the bits per sample, but there is no normal reason to ever do so.)

The burning process "should" not reduce the audio quality at all. However, if you experience static or similar problems on a burned CD, slowing down the burn speed is often a way to correct it. The burn speed is an option in burning preferences.
