I need to do a system restore under Win XP. After I select the restore checkpoint, I get an error message that there have been changes to the "D" drive (which is my Apple 60GB iPod Photo) and that this drive will not be changed. I click "OK" and proceed with the restore only to get an error message that the system restore is incomplete. I have previously used an iPod mini with this same system and system restores were never a problem. The only thing I can think of is that the preferences are toggled to sync the photos. Anyone else run into this problem? Any solutions?

Well, when you do the system restore, why do you have the iPod connected? It is my understanding that System Restore should only act on the computer's hard drive, not any external devices. Therefore I believe you should not connect your iPod while you run System Restore.
Thanks. The iPod is not connected during the restore process and all applications are closed.
So then are there any more problems?
Yes, with the iPod disconnected, I get the error message that there were changes to the D drive and after proceeding with the system restore, I get the error message that the system restore is incomplete.
I think you can ignore that message if that D drive is actually your iPod.
Yes, I ignore the message and continue with the system restore. The PC goes through the restore process, reboots and then I get an error message that the restore is incomplete.
Problem diagnosed as bad case of Spyware/Adware infecting the machine (which was why I wanted to do a System Restore). Although I regularly use Ad A Ware and Spybot, they weren't detecting and removing the problem. I used two additional products, Spyware Doctor and Webroot Spy Sweeper, along with a scan by Trend Micro. System is running much better, is "clean" and I can successfully do a system restore.
Thanks for the assistance!

Spyware? That is probably out of my depth.
Anyway, good to hear that. Enjoy.
