AB-repeat function

Hello everybody,

As my subject suggest I have a question about the AB-repeat function.
Does someone know if any Ipod have that function?
So you can set a startpoint (A) and an endpoint (B) within a song. Now the part between A and B gets repeated.

A very handy feature for musicians to learn solo's etc.

I found only old topics about missing this feature in Ipods...
Does any later generation of mini, classic, shuffle, nano or touch have it or get it with a software update?

I know of no such feature of ipod.

There is no direct way, but you could do the following. Pick the song you want to use for this "AB-repeat." Do a +Get Info+ on that song in iTunes. On the Options tab, set the +Start Time+ (for "A") and a +Stop Time+ (for "B"). Play the song to see if that's the portion you want to repeat. Create a new playlist. Add that song to the playlist as many time as want it to repeat. Sync the playlist to the iPod and play it.

Actually, you don't have to add it multiple times to a playlist if you want it to repeat forever. Just go to the iPod's settings and set it to Repeat the song ("One").

The only other way to do that would be to create a version of the song file where a segment repeats, by using an sound editing program. Them put that version on the iPod.

Isn't it strange that Apple doesn't offer this feature in it's products while other brands place it even in their low-budget mp3-players, DVD-players and (mobile) CD-players?

I want a mp3-player with that function.
Ipod isn't just a mp3-player anymore. It's part of a lifestyle.
The lack of that function leaves me to buy the competitors products...

I don't think I'am the onlyone in this world with this problem. Most people who buy's an Ipod like music. Is it strange that a large part of those people are musicians? These people needs the AB-function the most.
Anyway, I allready send Apple this feedback. Hope they'll come with a software upgrade including the AB-repeat function...

Personally, I never needed that function or even considered a need for that function.

Those who are studying foreign languages really want that function!! It's very necessary.
