My apps are frozen - I tried to update

I tried to update several apps this morning and my apps have been frozen in "loading" for most of the day - I can't fix this and I can't access them. I have shut the phone off, reset, and tried several times to update them again, entering my code into the app store .. nothing works! I read on another thread to add a free app to see if this would kickstart things .... that did not work and now that one in addition is frozen in "loading".
In the past I have hit 'update all' for several apps and it's never taken more than 2-3 min to do them all. Any suggestions? I'm at work and can't 'plug in' and we don't have wifi, so do I have to wait until I can connect with my home computer?
