How do you remove old email addresses from iPhone's auto-complete database?

Auto complete on email addresses, great feature but not so great when you can't delete suggested addresses you no longer wish to see or will ever use again. There's gotta be a way to delete this. How?

PC, Windows Vista, iPhone 3G

Hi sabrewulf1980,

Those cached email addresses can be erased if the iPhone is restored and setup as a new phone, as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305744

You can leave feedback online, if you would like a button or switch to remove that cached email data. http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

i'm sorry, but i fail to see how this is a con? if a suggestion pops up that you dont want, simply ignore it. if you're entering a new address, you would have had to enter the entire address anyway. if its a new email for someone you've emailed before, well, it should be on that list too. no extra taps, scrolling, deleting, etc.

please explain how this affects your experience. perhaps i'm missing something.

A clear case: either an error in the email address the first time you typed it which may not always be memorable (a dot between first name and surname or not a dot - why would you want to waste neurons remembering this?), or a change in email address where the old one sorts to the top of the list. End of the world? No. Legitimate, if minor, gripe? Yes.
