"Too many redirects" means that a URL points to another URL that in turn points to another where the first two do not provide any content and simply redirect. The issue is in how the web page is structured versus how tolerant the browser is to redirection.
Repairing disk permissions won't fix that (or much else) by the way. In fact, I'm not sure why so many people feel the urge to advise others to repair disk permissions as a first recourse. It's voodoo and will not fix 98% of the issues people are advised to repair permissions on.
The real solution is for web designers to not abuse redirection so I'd open a ticket with Facebook. Second to that, if clearing the browser cache didn't help the only thing you can do is try another browser. If Firefox doesn't work you might try Camino. It's similar to FF (both are Mozilla browsers) and I've never had a redirection issue with Camino. OmniWeb is another browser that, like Safari, is Webkit based but OW seems more sensitive to redirection than Safari is.
