What is the answer to this? Did you solve it? I also want to delete unwanted portions of TV downloads. I only want standard definition, but the HD download still remains. Every time I log in iTunes starts downloading these files. I have many of them and I have to pause them all. I tried deleting but they reappear. What is the solution?
I think roaminggnome has it. You say "Once I delete them I want them gone" - but you never have deleted them, actually, because you never have received them. As far as iTunes is concerned, you've failed to successfully download them, and it's doing its level best to make sure you got what you paid for.
Once you do successfully download them, iTunes will consider it to have given you your money's worth, and if you henceforth delete them ... well, your call.
I believe this deletion will be irrevocable.
"Let them download, then delete them."
The problem for me is not the files on my HD, but rather the downloading itself. I rarely have access to a high-speed connection, so I don't want to tie up my bandwidth downloading Hi-Def files.
