When I use the media browser in iLife, the photos in my iPhoto library do not appear in the photo pane. The tunes in my iTune library appear in the audio pane, but not the photos do not appear. The photo pane contains the message,'open i Photo2 or later or Aperature 1.5 or later to see your iPhoto or Aperature library in this list.' I have iPhoto 6.0.6, and it is open.
I used the media browser in iDVD and iWeb about 2 months ago without any problem. Does any body have any experience with this problem and its resolution?
Go to your iPhoto Library Folder (in your Pictures Folder) and find the
AlbumData.xml
file there. Move it to the desktop. Restart iPhoto and the other apps. This will force iPhoto to recreate this file, and perhaps the other apps will see the pics again.
The iPhoto library lives on the computer's hard drive. I also back it up on an external hardrive. I have not used keywords and I have deleted the default keywords. I have used the following non ascii characters in my titles: - ' ( ) ,
These characters have been in my library for three years and the difficulty with the media browser has only shown up this week. I hope I don't have to go through the titles on my library which contains 3700 photos and remove the non ascii characters on at a time. But whatever, thanks for the reply.
