Mail folders within POP accounts

Mail folders within POP accounts

I sync several email accounts (Mac Mail) with iTunes. The accounts are in my iPhone but only the IMAP accounts have folders other than inbox, sent and trash. Is there anyway to create folders where emails can be stored?

powerbook, iPhone, Mac OS X (10.5.6)

Not with POP accounts as they don't work that way (though I do wish you could make a folder to keep a message).

IMAP shows folders that are on the server...create a new folder on the server, it will show up on the iPhone as that is how IMAP works.

How do I change my account (in Mail preferences) from a POP to IMAP? My server supports both and I'd like to have folders on Mail (as I do with other accounts). Thanks.
