Reset display settings?

I have a Mac Mini - Intel Core Solo running 10.5.4. It was hooked up to a Sony Bravia 52" LCD running 1920x1080 interlaced with overscan. It worked wonderfully, even after a few reboots.

Then I played with the display settings and now it doesn't display anything.

I have tried safe boot and it shows up perfectly at 1920x1080 interlaced NO overscan. Then I reboot again in normal mode and no picture!

Does anyone have any suggestion or how can I reset all display settings and start over?

Did you try resetting in your Displays system preferences?

You could also try moving Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.systempreferences.plist (I am assuming this is the same in Leopard as in Tiger) to the desktop and restarting. This will reset your basic system preferences for your account. If it works you will need to set your preferences again, and you can trash the file.

I am having a similar problem. I have four 26" sharp displays which i have hooked up to my intel mac mini. I use 768x1024 in 10.5.5 and everything worked perfectly. I recently updated to 10.5.6 and now the screen shows while booting, but when X actually boots all i get is a black screen. If i hookup the mac to a standard monitor, the screen comes back up, but when i hook the mini right back up to the TV Screen, it blacks back out again.

Anyone have a solution for this problem?
