external syncing to wordclock

Hello. I'm attempting to locate the external clocking settings in Logic 8. My audio interface is a digi 003 and my master clock is a mytek 192cx. I've looked in both the general preferences and project preferences for some options, and the only place I could see any kind of digital clocking settings was in the project settings for audio. But, the only place I could see an option for digital, was under DAE/TDM, but it was greyed out.

In Logic, I can record audio via lightpipe, but there are cracks and pops because Logic is not externally clocked.

I can get all of my gear synced up in pro tools no problem, so I know it should be possible in Logic.

Thanks for any help/responses.

Because I'm using a digi 003 rack as my audio interface, it doesn't have configuration settings within the Mac Audio Preferences. When I use Pro Tools, there is a simple hardware configuration window which allows you to clock to internal, spdif, or lightpipe. I'm looking for a similar option in Logic.

I did get Logic to clock externally, and it does see the clock. There are no obvious settings within Logic to clock to lightpipe or spdif. Only through the various MTC options.

If anyone can point me the configuration settings for externally clocking to wordclock, I would sincerely appreciate it.

thank you!

That's because Pro Tools is designed to work with the 003.

Unfortunately Digidesign's support for other DAW's and Core Audio is minimal.
It's designed to work mainly with Pro Tools.

That said.... have you checked the Digidesign download site for Core Audio Drivers?

With a core audio compatible card sync is done through Core Audio -OR- a software applet that configures your hardware.

For instance, my RME card has a software interface that allows digital clock sync to lock to Internal, ADAT or S/PDIF. Once the card is locked, Logic is automatically locked.
