Files on iWeb 08 and 09 don't match

Files on iWeb 08 and 09 don't match

I created a website on iWeb 09 on my G5, then tried to edit the site on my Macbook using iWeb 08.

My site does not show up in iWeb 08 even after publishing all. All it did was create a new site.

Any suggestions?

I had the same problem
The work around is to make the new site name exactly the same as the old one. For example my old site was called site x. The new iWeb9 was named site site. I changed the iWeb9 to site x and the old page was replaced with the new one.

See my tutorial Toad's TutorialsManaging an iWeb site from multiple Macs with Dropbox. It's all automatic once you have Dropbox installed on both computers. The only caveat is you can be working on the site from both computers at the same time.

Thank you. I don't actually want to replace the site with a new one, but I would like to be able to edit what is already there from a laptop in addition to working on it fro my desktop. Perhaps with Dropbox this is possible? I will read up on this via the links provided...

You can't use iWeb 08 on an iWeb 09 created site. It's not backward compatible. You'll have to upgrade your laptop to iLife 09 to be able to do that. Dropbox won't make the 09 file compatible with 08.
